Kimberly and Jeremy | Alta Loma, California - Part One

Kimberly and Jeremy’s beautiful wedding at the bride’s family home will not be one that I will soon forget. It was a weekend that I had long been looking forward to! From the moment I designed Kimberly’s first high school corsage, I hoped that one day I would be designing her wedding flowers! Her family and ours have been friends and neighbors for two decades, so I have been their florist for many occasions. (See Andrew and Montana’s wedding here!)
I had been working with Kimberly for months on her dream wedding plans when COVID abruptly brought those plans to a standstill. However, quarantines and masks could not stop true love! Kimberly and Jeremy were determined to keep their wedding date, even if plans for venues had to change to accommodate the date. They ultimately chose to exchange their vows under a grand majestic California Oak at Kimberly’s childhood home. Witnessed by family and close friends, the service was officiated by Jeremy’s Pastor, who has known Jeremy since he was born!
Jeremy and Kimberly met in high school Spanish III class-Kimberly the shy, quiet student and Jeremy the outgoing jock. Each day, Jeremy would move his desk to sit next to Kimberly, while she worked hard to ignore him! They became partners for Spanish presentations for an entire year, and finally when Jeremy was graduating from high school did Kimberly consent to a date with him. On a trip to Maui, Jeremy surprised Kimberly with a marriage proposal and the rest is history!
Kimberly choose classic burgundy Black Baccara roses for her bouquets. For the boutonnieres, gold cuff wrist corsages and floral cake top, we used burgundy spray roses, Dusty Miller, ivory hypericum and elegant plumosa to complement the Black Baccara roses. The ceremony arrangement was designed in a tall silver trumpet vase and included white hydrangea, green hanging amaranthus, ivory Vendela roses and fragrant white stock.
A sweet detail of
the day was the delivery of the bridal bouquet. This is my favorite part of the
whole wedding process! Earlier during planning, Kimberly had asked me to incorporate
a piece of her Mom’s wedding dress into her bouquet. The dress was dropped off
a few days before the wedding and I looked for something on the dress that
would be meaningful. As I presented the bouquet to Kimberly, I explained that the
stems were wrapped in the buttoned right sleeve of her Mom’s dress, so as
Kimberly walked down the aisle, she would be holding her Mom’s arm. It was a
touching moment between Mom and daughter!
Although
the outdoor ceremony took place at Kimberly’s home, many of the photographs
were taken in our gardens! Last year, I had designed a photo shoot in our gardens
where Kimberly and Jeremy graciously agreed to be our model bride and groom. I
joked that it would be good practice for their big day! (See the Romantic
Garden Styled Shoot here) I was thrilled when they asked if they could take
some of their wedding photos in our gardens! Their awesome photographer, Carly Peterson, captured some truly stunning images of the day!
Kimberly and Jeremy were both so wonderful to work with. They are perfect for each other and deserve every happiness! I am so looking forward to their reception at NoorPasadena in May 2022, where we will get to create more loveliness using the beautiful burgundy Black Baccara roses!
Stay tuned for Part Two!
